The Ohio Battle Flag Audiovisual Collection consists of 486, 8x10, color photographs of battle flags representing Ohio troops who served in five wars. Five photographs depict Mexican War flags; 366 represent Civil War flags; 26 depict Spanish-American War flags; 79 illustrate World War I flags and 10 depict World War II flags. The collection also includes 307, 5x7, color photographs of paintings of Civil War battle flags by commercial artist Robert Needham. The paintings depict the flags complete and in good condition. There are 793, 4x5 copy negatives which correspond to the photographs. Additionally, there are 307, 35mm slides which correspond to the painting photographs.
